Nancy Vandewater
Morning On-Air Minister
I’m a “home-town girl” – born and raised in Eagle Grove, I haven’t wandered too far from home, but did live in the beautiful state of Oregon for 2 years. I’m one of 8 children, and absolutely love my large family and getting together with them.
As I look back at the “fingerprints of God” in my life – I stand amazed at His grace and mercy. I’ve said that in a lot of ways I had to grow up in a hurry – getting married at 18; having 2 children by the time I was 21; and then becoming a widow when I was 22. God’s timing is perfect, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior just one year before my husband was diagnosed with leukemia, giving me the hope and strength to make it through. Also, my husband accepted Christ as his Savior during his illness, giving us the assurance of eternal life and the peace of knowing he’s with the Lord.
Then God brought my current husband, Denny, into my life and unto that union was born another daughter. Our lives are full and I feel that “my cup overfloweth” with a son and two daughters and their spouses and now 2 step-grandchildren and 7 grandchildren! Things are lively and get a little crazy when they are all home, but it is a lot of fun!
I have great joy in serving God through my family, my church, and KJYL. I love to lead women in God’s Word and have guided women’s studies for many years now. I have a passion especially to see women come to a knowledge of the truth and to be set free by it, and also to know they have value and worth in God’s eyes. A couple of my favorite verses are: “I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” (3 John vs. 4); “Make me know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths - lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation.” (Psalm 25:4,5).
I’m thankful for Christian radio – and I love to share His Word – His truth with others – on KJYL!
My passion is to share the three-fold message of hope: that God is good; God loves you; and God is faithful. Everything in this life will pass away - but His love will last forever.
