Humboldt Community Chorus

HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt Community Chorus will present "Another Op'nin'...  ...Another Show" at the RWC Auditorium at the high school, located at 1500 Wildcat Rd in Humboldt.  This event will be Friday, February 5th at 7 PM, Saturday, February 6th at 2 PM & 7 PM and on Sunday, February 7th at 2 PM. Community Ground Hog Day Dinner

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9
DAYTON - Due to the weather on Tuesday, February 2nd, Lanyon Covenant Church will be celebrating Ground Hog Day again  on Tuesday  Feb 9th from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Dayton Community Center, 104 1st Street SW in Dayton, with the same delicious dinner of pork sausage patties and all the fixins’. 20th Annual "Fat Tuesday" Dad's Belgian Waffle Supper

ALGONA - The 20th Annual "Fat Tuesday" Dad's Belgian Waffle Supper, served by Dad's Belgian Waffles of Algona, will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at the Algona First Presbyterian Church which is located at 101 N Main Street in Algona. Serving is from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM with carry-outs available. Advanced tickets may be purchased through any church member or at the church office. Fighting Hunger Locally

2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR
CLARION - The Clarion Churches, Rotary Club & CGD Elemetary School have partnered together to help fight hunger in the community. Families identified by the elementary school staff are supplied with a backpack of food each weekend to help supplement the nutrition needs in their home. CLARION:  The Dwelling Place in Clarion, located at 912 Central Ave, has community prayer meetings the first Thursday of each month from Noon to 1PM.   
 
CLARION:  A Caregivers' Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center.  
 
CLARION:  Toastmasters meetings can help you develop strong communication skills. Wright On Toastmasters meets every Friday from 7 to 8AM at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion at the boardroom across from Widflower Cafe. Visit them to see what Toastmasters can do for you.   
 
EAGLE GROVE: First Baptist Church of Eagle Grove has a full calendar of events scheduled for every Sunday night of the month.  The 1st Sunday is "Old Fashioned Prayer Time."  The 2nd Sunday is "Bible Topic Talks" with open discussions.  The 3rd Sunday is "Movie Night."  The 4th Sunday is "Sing Time." (Bring your musical instruments and play along with the singing.)  All events are open to the community and begin at 6PM.  First Baptist is located 1210 S. FORT DODGE - ICKY's is a youth center for 5-12th grade students, which they can come hang out, meet new friends, play games, eat food, or study in a quiet room. It is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights every week. Several area churches have gone together to get this youth center started. It is a great resource to not only give kids a place to hang out, but, also brings churches together in the mission of reaching our youth. Caleb Carlson of Humboldt is the director.

FORT DODGE:  Fort Dodge Community Choir hosts praise and worship services at Coppin Chapel every other Sunday.  The choir is also available to perform at other churches.

FORT DODGE:  Blanden Memorial Art Museum in Fort Dodge hosts a FREE family art day on the first Saturday of every month from 10:30AM to 12:30PM.  Families will be provided with art materials and instructions to create a project to take home that day.  For more information, call 515-573-2316.
 
FORT DODGE:  Those with a heart for prison ministry are encouraged to contact the Church of the Damascus Road for information about ministering to the imprisoned or becoming apart of the Outside Church Council.  The council meets every third Wednesday of the month.  Call 515-955-3579 for details. 
 
FORT DODGE:  St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge has a women's Bible study on Mondays at 1:30PM in the church library.  The men's Bible study meets on Mondays at 6:30PM in the church board room.  Another Men's Bible class meets on Tuesdays at 6:30AM in Conference Room number 1. 
 
GOLDFIELD:  Crossroads Youth and Family Center in Goldfield is open for activities and for kids to hang out on Friday and Saturday nights.  Kids 8th grade and younger are welcome from 7 to 9PM.  Youth in 9th grade through college age are welcome from 7PM to midnight.  
 
OTHO:  The Webster County Museum in Otho is open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10AM to 4PM with admission by donation.  Volunteers are also needed.  Contact Phyllis at 515-972-4544 during museum hours or 515-972-4804 at other times.

WRIGHT COUNTY: If you are in need of help with your heating bill, the 2015-2016 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has been established to help qualifying low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter season. Applications will be taken November 1, 2015 through April 30, 2016. This program is not designed to pay households' total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors, including, but not limited to, total household income, household size, dwelling type, and type of heating fuel. If you have already applied, and have been approved, for this season, you cannot re-apply. For more information
