Community Calendar Clarion Church of Christ Celebrates 100 Years

CLARION - Current Clarion Church of Christ minister, Warren Curry, invites the public to celebrate with the current congregation on Sunday, December 4th, as together they reflect on 100 years in its building on North Main Street. The event begins with a catered meal in the Church Fellowship Hall at 5 PM with the worship service in the Church Sanctuary at 6 PM.

Southern Gospel Trio Concert

FORT DODGE - The New Covenant Trio will be at the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Dodge on Sunday, December 4th for an evening of fun and entertainment. Spirit of Giving Trees

CLARION - Spirit of Giving Trees returns to Clarion for the Christmas season. Christmas tags will be at the Clarion Public Library and at the ISH Emergency Room Entrance until Wednesday, December 7. There is a tremendous need--the biggest demand ever--this year. Organizers hope individuals, families, organizations and business will consider 'adopting' area children from the trees this holiday season.

Kiwanis Christmasland in Humboldt

ALGONA, STORM LAKE, & OTHER CITIES:  Cornerstone for Life is a pregnancy resource ministry in Storm Lake, Algona, and other cities.  They need volunteers, including publicists, counselors, receptionists, prayer partners, and even pregnant women who would like a free ultrasound to provide practice for volunteers. CLARION - The Clarion Churches, Rotary Club & CGD Elemetary School have partnered together to help fight hunger in the community. Families identified by the elementary school staff are supplied with a backpack of food each weekend to help supplement the nutrition needs in their home. CLARION:  A Caregivers' Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30PM at the Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center.  
CLARION:  Toastmasters meetings can help you develop strong communication skills. Wright On Toastmasters meets every Friday from 7 to 8AM at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion at the boardroom across from Widflower Cafe. Visit them to see what Toastmasters can do for you.   
EAGLE GROVE: First Baptist Church of Eagle Grove has a full calendar of events scheduled for every Sunday night of the month.  The 1st Sunday is "Old Fashioned Prayer Time."  The 2nd Sunday is "Bible Topic Talks" with open discussions.  The 3rd Sunday is "Movie Night."  The 4th Sunday is "Sing Time." FORT DODGE - ICKY's is a youth center for 5-12th grade students, which they can come hang out, meet new friends, play games, eat food, or study in a quiet room. It is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights every week. Several area churches have gone together to get this youth center started. It is a great resource to not only give kids a place to hang out, but, also brings churches together in the mission of reaching our youth. Caleb Carlson of Humboldt is the director.

FORT DODGE:  Those with a heart for prison ministry are encouraged to contact the Church of the Damascus Road for information about ministering to the imprisoned or becoming apart of the Outside Church Council.  The council meets every third Wednesday of the month.  Call 515-955-3579 for details. 
FORT DODGE:  St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge has a women's Bible study on Mondays at 1:30PM in the church library.  The men's Bible study meets on Mondays at 6:30PM in the church board room.  Another Men's Bible class meets on Tuesdays at 6:30AM in Conference Room number 1. 
GOLDFIELD:  Crossroads Youth and Family Center in Goldfield is open for activities and for kids to hang out on Friday and Saturday nights.  Kids 8th grade and younger are welcome from 7 to 9PM.  Youth in 9th grade through college age are welcome from 7PM to Midnight.
